Long Time, No Blog!!!

Well hey there, you blog buddies! Long time no blog, huh? So much has happened in the last year or so, since my last post. To top the list, would be my daddy passing away in September. Hardest thing I've ever endured. :( :( The store I was selling my digital designs at, Digital Freebies, kind of regrouped (new owner) and booted us all out on the curb. So, I no longer have a store to sell my designs at. :( I went back to work full time. :(

On the upside, we bought a new house! Yay!!! Will have to post some pix soon. Although, I don't have internet at home now, because we are out in the country and can't get anything but DIAL UP!! egads. So, for now, I hit and miss when I can check in. Needless to say this has put a damper on all things scrappy.

But, I have been working on a new kit. It's a Valentine themed kit, but had more colors than just pink and red. I was wondering, if anyone would be interested in seeing it? I'm not sure if there are any of you still out there reading this. So if you are, give me a shout out, in the form of a comment, and perhaps I'll think of posting this new set of papers as a freebie. Just maybe.

Well kids, sorry I have been soooo busy. I have sorely neglected my blog, you can tell by my header. It's still stuck in winter. LOL Got to update that, huh?

I'm so thrilled to announce that I made it through to Round 3 for the Little Dreamer 2008 Apprentice Program!!! I cannot tell you how happy I am!!! And I want to thank those of you who took time to go by and view my page!! You all helped my little 3 Wishes submission become the 2nd most viewed submission, and I had the 2nd most comments out of all 40 submissions! Talk about making my day!!! This made my year!! I'm so happy that everyone liked it so well, and I hope I can deliver that same kind of crowd pleasing submission for this next round! Which I am working feverishly on right at this moment!

Well, by the time you read this, I should know if I made it to Round 3 in the Little Dreamer Apprentice contest. It's so nervewracking! I hope I can sleep tonight!!

But I do have some news. Little Dreamer has received so many requests for the elements we created, that they have decided to go ahead and host download links for all of the elements packs to be given away free to everyone! Those should start to be up on Tuesday. So, make sure you go by and snag all those gorgeous element packs!

Now, as for the deal I made with you . . . and to those who took time to go by LDD and comment and come back here and leave me a comment (about 25 of you) it seems kind of unfair that EVERYONE is going to get my element pack now. March Madness!! Freebies and New Products out the Wazoo!

As you can see, there were so many elements, I had to use 2 pages for the preview!!

We believe in prayer around these parts.

Some New Items at Digital Freebies on Tuesday: 30% off!

That's right, I have some items coming out tomorrow at Digital Freebies. Some of these things you may remember from when I had a store at OAKS, may she rest in peace. But, one of them has been updated and made even cooler! Check 'em out!

First up, I have newly updated and renamed "Fab n' Funky Ruled Notebook Papers." These were formally called "funky ruled notebook paper," and they were sold in two sets. I've updated these funky papers by adding a "folded/creased" appearance to them, and now you can purchase all 12 in one convenient set.

Next I have created the Real Simple Designer Resource Collection. This line of products will be simple tools for those of you who design your own kits, or those who are wanting to start. Included will be my already popular Real Simple Template Collection, stitches, brushes, shapes, textures, and all kinds of other things that you will find useful in your design business.

The first installment of this line are my Basic Stitches. You get 5 simple & various stitches, with the "hole" already there. There are no drop shadows, so you can add your own, and they come greyscale in .PNG format for easy recoloring and altering for your own purposes. These stitches come with their own commercial use license, so no other license is necessary.

Next up, you'll find these sweet little Clothing Tags for boys and girls, from my Tag, You're It! collection. You get 16 tags in each set, 8 clean tags, and 8 torn tags! Each one has a descriptive word, a bar code, sku number, price and size! I've seen people put an "X" over the price and put "priceless" somewhere on the tag, to make it unique! You can alter these as well, making them colored, changing the price and the sizes, however you see fit to make them your own! There is a set for your darling girls and your precious boys!

This is my daughter, Camryn, when she was 3. I used to babysitting this little girl (who was 2) and they loved to get dressed up and let me take their pictures. I always kind of thought it looked like they were looking at a mirror reflection of themselves. They were so stinking cute that day. I really miss that little bugger! She's in Kindergarten now and my daughter is in 1st. My how time flies.

Crazy Little Thing . . . and a Freebie For You!

Hello all my blog babies! I'm so glad you decided to stop by and see what I was up to today. Well, I am happy to announce a couple of new products in my Digital Freebies store, as well as pass along a fun little freebie just for you.

On a personal note, I've had a sick kid since Friday, and we still really don't know what he has. If I had to guess, I'm thinking he was misdiagnosed to NOT have strep throat. And now it has gone into Scarlet Fever. I'm not a doctor, but he has all the symptoms . . . and I'm convinced he had strep throat . . . no matter what that stupid test said. That's all I have to say about that.

Some News . . Some Happy . . . Some Sad

Well, you know life just happens doesn't it. It just keeps on moving ahead, not even asking us if we care, or if we have a problem with any of it. I guess that's just the way it should be. Let's try not to complain about it too much, k?

First of all, I have some very sad news to share. I have found out that as of January 31, Victoria has decided to close the doors at OAKS completely. There was a hack job that destroyed all the member info, we lost the gallery and the forums. And she has some personal issues going on, so she's decided to throw in the towel rather than rebuild it all. Who can blame her. I wish her the very best, and am glad she's decided to keep designing at SBB.

At least I still have Digital Freebies!! My stuff rolled out there on the First, and I've already sold so much stuff . . . I'm in shock! Can't wait for next Tuesday, that's when the new products come out. Although my stuff wont be new to you, it will be new to lots of DF shoppers who may have never seen my stuff! So it's exciting!

Also, I have two fabulous toots to share! 1) My layout "My Girl,"

was just published in the January Digital Artisan Guild's magazine! It is my first layout to ever be published! I'm so excited! Go by the Guild and get your subscription so you can check it out! It's a double packed issue this month, and there is SOOOO much stuff in it!!

Doing the Happy Dance!!

Yup, I'm doing the happy dance!! I have a happy announcement! As of January 1, 2008, you can now find all my products at Digital Freebies as well as still at OAKS!!! Isn't that fabulous?? I'm so excited, since DF is the very first scrap site I ever visited and posted at. It was where I got hooked! Some New Stuff

ch - I love cardboard, and ribbons, wrap around and folded ribbons.

ch - I don't really have a favorite. I've been window shopping at Nitwit Creations, lately though. And Kaye Miller is fabulous.

da - How many peeps in your family?

ch - Two little ones

da - Do you usually print out your layouts?

ch - Nope. I'm saving them up till I'm rich. Although I did just win a Shutterfly photo book from PDW, and I've had a blast putting that together. I can't wait till it comes!

da - What is the one scrap item you cannot resist?

ch - Ribbons, folded, crumpled, wrapped around, etc.

da - Do you wear shoes when you scrap?

ch - Never

da - Show us your favorite layout, and tell us why it means so much to you.

ch - I had these wonderful pictures of my daughter peeking out at me from inside the lilac bush . . . and I knew I wanted to do something with a journal . I was very very pleased with how it turned out. I can still pull it up when I need to look at something and think . . . I guess I can create something beautiful, LOL.

Aren't those just beautiful! Carrie is a very talented scrapper, and I'm so blessed to have her on my team. I hope you will look for her work in the galleries, and you can find even more of her treasures here at her DST gallery.

Where's the Love?

I have to say, I'm just a little disappointed. I've noticed that my Insomnia alpha has been dowloaded over 75 times in two days . . . and yet, only 2 people have taken time to leave a comment. That's not right, folks.

It takes a alot of my time (and other designers as well) to come up with fun designs to give you as gifts, to help you enjoy digi scrapping. But it only takes a couple seconds to leave a comment for that designer to show your appreciation. Makes me sad.

Ok, that's my sermon for the day. Anyway, I've got another addition to the Insomnia Collection, this is Volume 3 of the paper packs.

I just found out some very sad news today. On two occassions today, I was faced with blatant acts of piracy. It's just so sad that people can't be more creative than to steal other people's designs and photographs.

People, it's wrong to snag a photo off the web, and pretend that it's yours. It's wrong to take a design, part of a design, or even an idea, and claim it as your own. These acts are known as Piracy, the same thing as stealing. And it's wrong.

Please, please do not copy my photos, or my digital designs and use them in way without permission. Please, do not take my FREEBIEs, and put them on your BLOG and give them away as if they belong to you. If you want people to see my Freebies and get them free too, then please give them the address to MY blog. Let them come to my site and see what I have designed and get them free the right way. The legal way. The nice way.

I appreciate your attention to this matter, and for you being a stand up citizen and obeying the rules of Anti-Piracy. It will make the web a happier place.

My New Fanciful Frames

I'm pleased to share with you my newest creations, called Fanciful Frames! These little frames are made up of squiggly, swirly curls, and are really unique looking! You can use them to add a bit of drama to any layout, by using them to frame journaling, or even to frame a small photo!

I have two sets, the first one features swirls all around the entire frame, while set two, the swirls only hug around one corner of the frame. Check them out . . here is set One.

They are in the same sweet colors, in a simple styling that reminds me of the old Dick and Jane stories we used to read in school. They have a vintage feel to them, that I just love!

The announcement is 5x7, and fits a 4x5 image into an oval window. The font and trim are all in a delicious chocolate brown, on either a pale pink or pale blue background. The font layer is on a separate layer, so you can change the font, the color and the text to suit your needs.

I have a new product to post today that I am really excited about. It's a 16x24 storyboard template called Chocolate Bunny, and it comes in two color combinations. This darling storyboard comes with a cute little chocolate bunny on a soft pink background, and a soft blue background. Both templates have three openings for 5x7 portrait, or you could put in two portraits and fill the third window with text.
